MUN Training Sessions and Procedures

14-Sep-2020

MUNs idea is to bring forth students for representing their countries. Here are some necessary steps and procedures involved in MUN Training:

Deciding on a leadership structure: This step entails choosing a Chair for leading the team that will organize the conference and gearing up a group of Committees which will keep the things going until final call of the leaders.

Deciding the required leadership positions: It depends on the size of the conference on the basis of which the number of officials are decided.
Next, students need to promote the conference and set up a registration process.

Now when leaders chosen, the GA and Secretariat officials training should be given to make sure that students know the rules, regulations, their roles, and responsibilities.

Students must go through precisely with the guide comprising all the information about organization of the conference along with the simulation, topics, writing position papers, submission, digital tools, and other important details.

Now, topics and countries will be assigned to the conference participants. This step is very crucial for which certain schools send teams of delegates which work together.

There must be set a deadline for the submission of Position Papers to the Committee Chairs. Chairs must review each Position Paper and return them along with the feedback before the conference.

An online space must be generated so that delegates can work together. Also, it is necessary to design a space where delegates will communicate with each other.

Video chats, Google+ hangouts or some other similar format are some tools available for students which they can use along with experts to discuss the topic and write a resolution.

Volunteers will assist in as many aspects of the conference as needed. They help the conference run smoothly and without any hurdles.
These workshops should comprise training on the various Rules of Procedure, regulations, paper work, topics, discussions, and briefings to the delegates. They focus on substantive issues which are related to the items to be discussed during the conference or those issues which are of general interest like information about the work of UN agencies or employment at the UN.

Following these steps and ways, one can know completely about the MUN training sessions and procedures.
